Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
10 October 2023
Just because it’s not visible, doesn’t mean it’s not there.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a symbol for non-visible disabilities. It’s a great way to let people know that you or your child has a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent. It shows others that you may need extra support, understanding, or more time in shops, on public transport or in public spaces.
You can wear the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower in lots of ways: lanyards, wristbands, clothing and stickers.
Lots of organisations are part of the program and there are lots of Sunflower-friendly places. including Metro Trains, the MCG and Westfield shopping malls.
You can pick up free Hidden Disability Sunflower products from many train stations as well as City of Melbourne tourism hubs and Travellers Aid at Flinders Street and Southern Cross stations.
