Members we need your input!

In our recent member survey it was made clear to us that our members wanted to be more involved in helping ACD develop our resources for other families just like yours. And we were delighted to hear that, as it is your experience which makes sure the work we do stays relevant and meaningful.

And we’ve got a couple of great opportunities to have a say in some exciting upcoming resources!

Pep Talks    peptalks-speechbubbles-web

ACD is developing some fantastic new, and much needed, resources to assist parents of children with a disability to talk to their child about sexuality, called ‘PEP-talks’ (Prepare, Explore, Protect).

We know that this area is a huge challenge for many parents, yet such an important thing in helping children to stay safe and informed as they grow up. We’d love to hear from a cross-section of parents about your experiences, frustrations, challenges and fears around talking about sexuality with your children so that the resources we develop are as useful to you as possible. We know it’s a challenging area, which is why we think it’s so important to hear from you at the very start. We would love for you to provide your valuable input at an upcoming focus group session.

Focus Group details: Wednesday 5th October – 10am-12noon  at ACD
Food will be provided.

If you’re interested in attending, please email joelt@acd.org.au

 NDIS 4 kids  NDIS4Kids_logo (002)

Following the recent release of the NDIS 4 kids resource (www.ndis4kids.org.au) back in July, which is a resource aimed at families of children aged 0-6 as they head into the NDIS, we are now busy expanding that website so that it also provides helpful resources for families of children in primary and secondary school. So if you’re a parent of a child with a disability in either primary or secondary school we’d love to speak to you about what you want and need to know about to help your family transition to the NDIS. That way we can make sure that the resource tells families about to enter the NDIS what they really need to know. We would love for you to provide your valuable input at an upcoming focus group session.

Focus Group details: Wednesday 5th October – 1pm-3pm at ACD
